Sola #5: Soli Deo gloria - all glory to God alone. When someone does it all, what do you do? Praise them. The work of the cross occurred through Christ’s action. He rescued us when we were drowning. He’s the Lifeguard patrolling the “beach of life.”
Sola #4: Solus Christus - through Christ alone. There is only one mediator between God & man: Jesus. The way to the Father is exclusively through Christ, because only Jesus has paid for our sins. Nothing else can or will do. Nothing satisfies God but Jesus. (Jesus is the divine Snickers bar!)
Sola #3-Sola gratia: by grace alone. He paid the mortgage on your soul by dying on the cross for you, even though you don’t care for Him.
Sola #2: Sola fide - by faith alone. We are not justified by works (no karma scale), but by faith alone in Christ’s finished work. It frees us from all futility.
Sola #1: Sola Scriptura - by scripture alone. Our gospel & our bible did not come from man. It’s wholly, thoroughly, authoritatively from God.
